NATIVA™ Wool

Responsible origin + natural performance.

Renewable

Sheep produce a new fleece every year, making wool a completely renewable fibre.

Biodegradable

Wool does not release polluting micro particles into our waterways when washed, and completely biodegrades in a few months.

Natural

Wool is one of the oldest and best regarded 100% natural fibers available. NATIVA™ wool is grown respecting animals, people and planet.

Reduced water use

Compared to other natural, artificial or synthetic fibers, wool needs significantly less water for its growth, processing and after care.

Lower impact

Wool is washed less frequently and at lower temperatures, resulting in a lower environmental impact when cared for.

Widely recycled

Due to its strength and long lasting qualities, wool can be widely recycled and repurposed.

NATIVA™ Wool

Offering 100% traceability, NATIVA™ wool is ethically grown at our certified farms. Our NATIVA™ protocol ensures high standards of responsable management at farm level, as well as at every step of the value chain, ensuring an ethical fiber from farm to brand.

NATIVA™ wool is double certified RWS + NATIVA™.

Why wool

Breathable

Wool easily absorbs moisture particles and moves them away to evaporate into the air, keeping the body dry.

Soft on skin

Merino wool is one of the finest and therefore softest natural fibers – ideal for first layer clothing.

Permeable

Wool has a top layer of natural wax, which makes it water repellent.

Crease smart

The Merino wool fiber is like a spring that returns to its natural shape after being stretched or bent – giving garments a natural resistance to creasing.

Body smart

Unlike synthetics, wool is an active fiber. It keeps the body cool when it’s hot and warm when temperature drops.

Odour-resistant

Wool can absorb odour particles and hold them in, only to release them upon washing.

Easy care

Wool garments require less washing; most are machine washable in cold water.

UV resistant

Being a natural fiber, wool has evolved with time to protect sheep from the elements. Garments made in wool offer natural protection to sun rays.

NATIVA™ is the first global wool brand to provide Blockchain traceability from farm to consumer.
This transparency in the supply chain is enabled by the NATIVA™ certification and powered by Blockchain, meaning brands can show the entire journey of their garments.

The wool road

Certified farms

Our wool comes from certified farms in Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, North America, Uruguay and Argentina. They comply with strict levels of animal welfare, land management and ethical work policies.

Wool sourcing and combing

We source the finest wool and transport it to our certified combing mills. The greasy wool is washed, classified and dried, ready to be combed into wool tops.

Wool spinning

Wool tops are turned into yarns by our certified spinners. Carefully testing for elasticity and resistance, wool fibers are combined to form the perfect yarn.

Weaving / knitting

Yarns are then knitted as fabrics, garments or accessories, or woven as material for linings, garments and even luxury vehicle furnishings, at our partner facilities around the world. We certify their compliance with the NATIVA™ protocol standards.

Manufacturing

Woven or knitted fabric becomes garments or furnishings. We fully certify the manufacturing of products using NATIVA™ wool, and ensure ethical standards are met throughout the process.

Shop

Garments arrive at shop floors with a 100% traceable journey. Customers can trace back the origins and check the full supply chain involved in the making of their garment.
